Organic Or Natural, Are They The Same?
>> February 19, 2008
Wanting to do what's best for yourself and your family, you may try to buy mostly organic or natural products. But do you know the difference between the two?
For a label to earn a USDA-certified organic seal (like the one above), it must meet specific government standards -- organic meat, poultry and dairy come from animals that aren't given hormones or antibiotics and organic crops are grown without using most conventional fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, or bioengineering.
Natural, on the other hand, is loosely defined as not containing synthetic preservatives or artificial color or flavor; the term is not regulated.
So, though many foods labeled natural are healthy, some, like all-natural soda and chips, are still loaded with calories and sugar.

Good stuff. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the information. It's really healthy to stay on organic foods. There's a lot of artificial products being mixed on our daily foods that makes us unhealthy.
I'll buy organic if it is reasonable, however, I'm not certain at this point if it really makes that big of a difference.
Good post!
This is something I also wonder from time to time. There is a huge boom in organic food, even organic tulip bulbs (http://www.tulipworld.com). What's next, organic clothes?
So sorry Erik... there are organic clothes: Gilligan & O'Malley Organic Chemise; Angel Pink
