Help For Acne Sufferers

>> August 24, 2008

I have a teenage son and about a year ago he started going through that 'teen acne' phase. He actually had it a lot worse than I, or his father, ever did. Being the mom that I am, I, of course, nagged him to wash his face. The response I got was that he didn't care about having zits because all his friends had them too. Well I cared! Not just because of his looks at the time, but because I felt it probably wasn't good for him, and because I didn't want him left with huge scars he would regret later in life.

So, I explained to him that his zits were caused by a combination of the dead skin cells that are on top of his skin getting clumped together with the extra oil from his hormonal body and that by washing his face twice a day with warm water and a mild cleanser he could help avoid breakouts.

The first two cleansers I bought him were apparently not right for his skin type, but the third must have been more balanced. (not too mild, but not so harsh that he produced more oil.) I also found other great tips and solutions by searching the Internet. (I personally was looking for a natural solution.)

One of the sights that I found helpful was Acne.com. In addition to tips and solutions for the treatment of teen acne, Acne.com is the leading authority in all things acne. They have articles on acne prevention, the causes of acne, the types of acne and more.

If you have acne, or know a teen with it, head over to Acne.com to learn your options.

Didn't care about his zits? I find that hard to believe. But if it's true, I envy him!
