P90X - I've Seen The Infomercials, Is It Working For You?
>> January 01, 2009
Have you seen the infomercial for the P90X Fitness System? I have to admit, I've watched it at least twice. I'm dying to try it and the more I read, the more I want to order it.
Designed by the same people who brought us the Beachbody Power 90, this system is supposed to cover every angle, from fitness, to nutrition, to supplements.
What The P90X System Is
The P90X is a series of 12 intense workout DVDs that you can do in you home. By devoting just one hour a day to your fitness, it's said that in 90 days you can go from regular to ripped! In addition there is a 3-phase nutrition program, supplements and online support.
Why It's Said To Work
The P90X uses a technique called "Muscle Confusion" so your body never plateaus. By switching the exercises, not only will you not get bored, you will continue to gain muscle. This is something I learned early on, but many people may not be aware of, by constantly doing the same exercise, year after year, your body comes to a point that it just stops making gains, but by changing the exercise, this doesn't happen. That's what the P90X system does for you.
If you've ordered the system, I'd love to know how it's working for you. And, if your New Year's resolution is to get fit, put the P90X on your list of home fitness training systems to look into.

I have seen this infomercial too and wondered about it. I know I recently saw a magazine cover with a celebrity who lost a lot a weight with it but I cant remember who it is...
All my friends that completed the 3 month program look great (all lean and cut). They followed the meal plans and the exercises as laid out in the program. There are a few people at the video fitness forums that followed this program, all with great results.

I tried it, but find that I cannot devote the time to it. As for me, I tend to have problems following meal plans and a set workout schedule.
Eli, thanks for stopping by. From Asithi's comments, seems it's working for some... we may have to try it!
Asithi, Thanks for the input. I too don't know if I'd devote the time required and thanks for the link to the forum... I'm signing up right now!
Thanks for sharing
Best Regards from Turkey!
You know I've been interested in P90X but did
not want to spend the money on it. What I do know is that if you work the plan - virtually what ever it is then it will work out.
New Year's resolutions, why bother - instead I set a new goal, while my fitness goal happened to to fit in with the New Year it is just a goal I have been planning for several months and found the tool to help me do it.
I finally got set of bodylastics exercise bands. These things rock and people have told me that they work great with the P90X system. So if you need some weights these bands fit in a small bag. No more space then a couple dumbbells.
You might think about trying them with the P90X system. I'm still thinking about trying P90X after I finish the system I am on right now.
