Would You Sail Away On A "Cougar Cruise"?
>> December 17, 2009
I had never even heard the term cougar used for anything other than a large, wild cat until a year or two ago. Now, the term is pretty common. ABC even launched a new television series recently, Cougar Town, based on the premise.
So, what is a cougar? According to the Urban Dictionary she's a 35+ year old female who is on the "hunt" for a much younger, energetic, willing-to-do-anything male.

Which brings us to the Cougar Cruise. Do you think this is a good idea?
I'd love a good caribbean cruise, don't get me wrong, but can't imagine boarding a ship knowing that my only goal was to hook-up... and that was also everyone else's goal too.
But, apparently I'm in the minority because I've heard the cruises are selling out fast. And, in my mind the cougars would have way outnumbered the cubs (20 or 30-something men looking for an older woman) but apparently I'm wrong again. According to Ann Thomas, owner of the Singles Travel Company, "there's been a paradigm shift in recent years, so now the cubs are more excited about it than the cougars."
Can you imagine your grandmother going on one of these?
